Default Dishwasher does not complete cycle
Model Number: JDB8910AWW   Brand: Jenn-Air   Age: 1 - 5 years

My Jenn-Air dishwasher runs through the early wash cycle and then stops with the basin full of water. We then must select "drain" and the dry cycle. In checking the water it feels hot (like my hot water heater temperature). The element does not appear to come on since I can touch it. I changed the thermister sensor in the bottom of the basin, and later replaced the element. It still does not complete its cycle. Please help.

Did it make any noises when it stooped?

What was shown on the display at this time?

Gene.

The cycle just stops and the lights blink with no error message. No noises occur. To illustrate what works and what does not this is the way my wife uses the dishwasher. She turns on the D/W with soap and it cycles until its stops (leaving the basin full), basically it swishes the soap and water for awhile then stops. She then uses the drain function. Then the rinse function (which rinses and then drains automatically), and then the dry function. As I noted above, it simply seems that the hot water is not being heated by the heating element so the D/W times out during the wash function because the water doesn't get hot enough. Thanks for any help.

Ron

Hi Ron,

Most likely the problem with your dishwasher is a bad control board.

- The part number for the control board is AP3474715

Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air dishwasher Model JDB8910AWW

Thank you for the input. Is it worth while to disassemble the control panel to see if there is a blown diode or something? Hate to spend $100+ on a 4 year old dishwasher.

Ron

You can inspect the control board but very often a damage is not visible.
