This problem might have been addressed in the forum already, but I'm not quite sure if what I've got is exactly the same as a previous problem...

RE a 5yo KitchenAid KUDP01ILWH3. Stopped mid-cycle last night and clean light was on in AM but cycle hadn't completed. Cancelled and unit drained. Started again this afternoon, water filled in tub, unit hummed and clicked. Water heating light came on and water got steamed. Hums and clicks continued. Finally hit cancel, unit drained and lights went off.
Read thru forum entries and it seems like the motor is bad. But thermal fuse might be a candidate, too. What do you think?

Will not be the thermal fuse as it kills power to the unit.
Could be a bad motor or a jammed motor.
Open it up and make sure nothing is jammed in the chopper and impeller.
