Model Number: DU1050XTPSO Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
My upper spray arm is not rotating and thanks to what I've learned from this sight it's most likely a clog somewhere. I want to get to the chopper to see if it's full of stuff but I'm having difficulty prying open the protective cover. I actually broke the tab!! If that's not the culprit the next area to look at is the inlet hose.
1. Does anyone have any tips as to how I get this sucker open? 2. Am I on the right track with my thinking? Thanks in advance, BC Ads By Google Related Models |

Thanks for the tech sheets...I finally got the protective cover off only to find that the blade has completely sheered off the chopper assembly. It was lodged underneath. I went ahead and cleaned the screen and now need to order a new chopper and check valve. How does the screen come out? I see two notches in the screen which line up with the housing but it doesn't want to come out and when I try to push in on the spring I get nothing. Any ideas?

Gene,
Thanks so much for the useful information. I was able to finally get it to pop off. Now I'm faced with a chopper blade that completely sheered off from the assembly.I'm off to order a new chopper and check valve. How does this one come out? I tried lining up the notches in the screen with the housing and lifting and got nowhere...ditto when I tried to push on the spring behind the screen. Please advise. BC |

You can find the instructions in the tech sheet provided by denman. A small pliers might help.
Gene.
