pump airlocks,no spray till I open door

Model Number: DP8500XBN2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years

dishwasher pump airlocks ocasionally,washer is full of water,pump is running,but no spray,if I open the door I hear a bubbling sound after which the machine sprays normally
