Default Maytag Neptune LR code
Model Number: MAH6500MWW   Brand: Maytag   Age: 1 - 5 years

Hi,
My maytag MAH6500MWW won't spin. There is a burn register on the control board. I am not sure this is the same infamous R11 & Q6 problem. I am going to order a new board but not sure if I have to order the door switch motor or something else to prevent it from burning again.
Thanks for all the help.

Sonny

Hi Sonny,

I do not thing you have to replace anything else besides the control board.

Maytag redesign the door latch and there is no more a wax motor used on your model.

- The part number for the main control board is AP3449382

Hi Gene,

Thanks for your response. I did ordered and received the new control board today. However, after installed the new control board and run a Quick Service Cycle test, it ended with the same LR code. I did open the back panel and can tell the motor does not even turn during the tumbling phase at all. It seems that the motor is really locked as indicated by the error code. Is there any other test, procedure that I can do? For your reference, the register R104 was the one that burn from the old control board.
Please help !!!!

Sonny

Hi Sonny,

Did you check the motor control board?

Remove the cover and visually inspect the board. If you did not see anything wrong then perform test as described in the tech sheets.

I found a new information in the Maytag technical bulletin which may help to solve the problem with your washer.

Hi Gene,
I did try the procedure described in the Technical bulletin but still could not get the motor to turn or spin. I then remove the Motor Control Board to check as you have suggested in earlier post. I could not see any visible damage or burn mark. Since I have access to the Motor control board, I then try the Motor Control Board Output test, where you disconnect the JP4 connector. I follow the test procedure and the motor DID SPIN at the end of the test. However, when I reconnect the JP4 connector, the motor still does not turn or spin during either the SPIN or Quick Service test.
I hope you have some idea for me to try. Your help is greatly appreciate.

Thanks,
Sonny

Hi Sonny,

Even the test with the JP4 connector did not show the problem, I still believe the motor control board has to be replaced.

To find out the right part number for the motor control board I need the serial number of the washer and I need you to verify the last three letters of the model number.
