Model Number: kudp02frss01 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years
What experience has anyone had with fixing this themselves? How would I do it? What parts would be needed?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for kudp02frss01 models | AppliancePartsPros.com You need to include a better description as to: What symptoms does it have Is it totally dead What is working What is not working Have you tried different cycle types What have you done to diagnose the problem. Alternatively you can replace both the keypad and control board and have a 95% chance that this will solve the problem. It is usually one of those two parts.

It started out that I could only use the heat dry and quick cycle. Then it went to just blinking to not doing anything. Just this morning I took the front panel off and it looked pretty clean inside. I then noticed when I plugged back in that the dishwasher wants to work now. So I have a load in now washing. It seems to be working. For how long, I don't know.

You may want to try the following if/when is causes trouble again
Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try.
