Found part 8268296 (spinner) in dishwasher. Can anyone tell me where this part came from or where it goes?

Welcome to the forum. The part you are describing is the top spinner. Look at the ceiling of the d/w. This is where it goes, however you need to replace the assembly. The rivet is missing so replace the assembley. The part # is AP3177952. Also your Model # is incorrect. It should read 665. not 655.

Thanks, Wrench. Yes, I found where it goes and I also found the little rivot. I've popped it in and running a wash now to see what it does. I've been getting food residue on the top rack. Hopefully, this will fix it.
