Access to cooktop igniter
Model Number: jgp963bec2bb Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a GE profile gas cooktop model JGP963bec2bb and have to replace the top left igniter . How do I open the coo top to gainaccess to this part . Must I remove the entire cooktop from the counter or can it be accessed from the top without removing it ?

It is pretty simple with this model - just remove the burner base and pull the igniter up.

You have to remove all knobs and the burner bases. Then remove the top panel. You can see it on the diagram.
- The left rear gas valve Part number: AP3186120 Gene.
