I have a Bosch dishwasher that doesn't completely empty all of the detergent out of the dispenser. I have cleaned the spray arms and the filter but to no avail. Can anyone guide me through this?

I'm having the same problem. Bosch SHU9955UC / 14. Using Ecover Ecological automatic dishwasher powder. Have used almost the whole box without any trouble. We did overfill the dispenser, but the dispenser lid shut without a problem. Ran it overnight (delayed cycle) on Regular Wash cycle. In the morning, there was at least half of the detergent still left in the cup, and it was wet. We ran it again the next night without adding any detergent. There was still close to the same amount of detergent in the cup. I ran it again this morning on the Quick Wash cycle, hoping this would finally rinse away all the detergent and indicate it was working, but STILL there was detergent left in the cup and dripping down the door.

I plan to manually clean out the cup and run one more Quick Wash cycle on the theory that over-filling the cup and then re-using the wet detergent was for some reason a bad idea (I've read elsewhere that clumping detergent is bad and am guessing that wet detergent qualifies as clumped detergent.)

Still, if someone has any input on this, I'd appreciate it.

I had a similar problem where the soap packets would turn into a gooey mess and remain stuck in the dispenser.

After much research, I stumbled across a description of the function of the wax motor. Based on the description, I came to the conclusion that the motor/actuator system that operates the soap dispenser, ALSO activates the rinse. OR - another way of saying it would be that the FIRST time the motor is activated, it dispenses soap. The SECOND time the motor is activated, it dispenses rinse.

What would happen if you were to interrupt the dishwasher AFTER the soap was dispensed and BEFORE the rinse.

I ran an empty cycle for about 20 - 30 minutes ... interrupted the cycle ... then ran it again.

Yeah ... the problem was fixed and it has been working flawlessly for about a month now.

BEFORE you spend a bunch of money on parts and the labor to replace the unit, try this "free" approach. I hope it works for you like it did for me.
