Can the impeller kit assembly be installed from the interior of the dishwasher, or do I need to pull it from under the counter for this part's removal and replacement? I previously removed and replaced chopper assy which did not eliminate noise during wash cycle (no noise during draining). Are there any other seals besides those in the impeller kit assy recommended if replacing this item?

Hi timoteo,

In order to rebuild the pump the dishwasher has to be removed from the cabinet.

You can find the complete instructions in the tech sheets.

Besides the impeller kit you have to order the volute seal.

- The part number for the impeller kit is AP3738238

- The part number for the volute seal is AP3039198

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model GU1100XTLQ1

Thanks Gene for the info. Ordering recommended seal and then will install impeller kit. If that doesn't fix noise, probably motor seal/bearing may be source. Dishwasher is 6 years old, would you recommend motor replacement or complete motor-pump assy replacement in that event.

Hi Tim,

I can not believe it but the motor assembly cost less than the motor itself. So, if the noise caused by the motor bearing I would buy the motor assembly. Definitely you do not need the pump housing in any way.

- The part number for the motor assembly is AP3179651

- The part number for the motor is AP3799654
