Maytag MDB7749AWM1 dishwasher will not start.

Start and cancel buttons do not work. Other buttons do work.

Does run in diagnostic mode but will not cancel.

Did the keypad resistance checks per the tech sheet. Start and cancel buttons do not have continuity.

Pretty sure I need to replace the control panel.

For my model dishwasher MDB7749AWM1 it is gray plastic to match stainless steel.

What part number is the control panel for my model? Availability?

Un-click the use our download manager and then use the grey button to download it, otherwise the site may put software on your computer that you do not want.
Note that it is for a 7759 but the 7749 is the same.

The usual way to troubleshoot this is to check the pinouts/keys on the panel for continuity.
If bad keys are found replace the panel.
Then if it checks out OK then replace the control board.

Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better.

It is best to check part numbers with a parts representative they have more info and knowledge when it comes to parts.

Received the control panel today. Took about 10 minutes to install. Dishwasher is working fine now! P/N for the stainless steel Maytag MDB7749AWM1 control panel is W1081151. Ordered it using the Appliance Pros 24/7 chat. Erica B. was very knowledgeable and helpful. Shipping took a week, but it had to travel across most of the USA. Part was a little expensive, but it saved me from buying another dishwasher. Very happy with my first Appliance PArts Pros experience including denman's expert volunteer help troubleshooting.
