Default Pots and Pans Light blinking
Model Number: 665?   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Recently, a visitor stumbled onto the open door on our dishwasher (Kenmore Ultrawash). Since then, the door has been hard to open at times. Yesterday, I pulled the unit out from the cabinet some to look at the hinges. I tweaked them slightly to aleviate the binding problem. Now, when we latch the door, the display comes on as normal-70 on the large display and the light above the miser button on. After about 5 seconds, the 70 turns off, and the miser light starts blinking. If I press any buttons, the pots and pans light starts blinking, and that continues until I open the door, press the cancel button or cut the power. If I press the cancel button twice, the drain pump starts and runs for a minute or 2. I think the unit is level. Any suggestions?

Artie

Artie,

It suppose to be 7 to 8 more digits after "665". If they are missing I probably could not help you as much as I would like.

There is a manual suplement that was inside the front cover. The number on it is 3381341

OK, I just found this. 15838791. It is barely visible and it wasn't exactly in the same line at the 665. Is that it?

Default Model Number

I'm pretty sure that's the model number in my previous post. Got any suggestions?

Thanks, Artie

Hi Artie,

Remove the inner door panel and the cover. Unplug the ribbon from the power board and clean it, using an eraser.

Plug it back, assemble the door and see if it's working.

Well, I had pulled that plug before, but I looked at it again. It isn't a blade type plug. It is a pin type plug, and I couldn't clean it with an eraser. I looked at the plug and the pin terminal with a bright light and a magnifier and they are clean. Still doing the same thing.

Another person had suggested testing the switches on the latch. They tested good. Is there a reset method on this unit that I should know about? I have turned the power off for more than an hour with no results.

Any other ideas?

Thanks, Artie

Most likely the problem caused by the push button switch.

- The part number for the push button switch is AP3096909
