Question Leaking dishwasher
Model Number: HFB4610VC119   Brand: Hotpoint   Age: 5 - 10 years

My dishwasher has been leaking everywhere, I can't see any problem with the seal but I can't figure out what could be wrong with it. There is no seal on the bottom of the door of the dishwasher but I don't know if that is normal.

Were you able to pinpoint the leak?

It was leaking through the door or from under the dishwasher?

Gene.

It is leaking through the door, right at the bottom of the door.

I am having the same problem. Mine appears to be a problem with the seal, as there is soapy residue on the exterior of the the seal on the inside of the door (where water should get to). Only, I don't know how to fix it...

Hi dcooker85,

Most likely the water leak through the door on your dishwasher caused by excessive suds from a wrong ( not designed for automatic dishwasher) soap.

Start the dishwasher, wait about 30 sec and open the door. You should see suds inside.

Hi Don,

Remove the inner door panel and check the soap dispenser latch (#2 on the inner door break down diagram) for the leakage marks.

If there are any marks - replace the latch.

- The part number for the latch kit is AP3130817

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model GU940SCGT3

Gene.
