Default Whirlpool Not Working
Model Number: DU980QPDZ5   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

Dishwasher will not start. There is power to the machine. The control panel lights up. When you push the button for the wash cycle to begin the lights go on as normal, but nothing happens. However it will still cycle all the way through the wash cycle and show "clean" when it's done. It was working fine and then stopped during a wash cycle. The serial # is FG3601858

Please advise and thanks!

Gene has much to be proud of
Default

Looks like there is no water into the dishwasher.

Check the water shut off valve under the sink.

Check the float (#32 on the tub break down diagram). It suppose to move freely up and down and should be in the down position if there is no water.

Remove the bottom panel and check the float switch (#30 on the tub break down diagram) for continuity. It suppose to be closed when the float is down.

Check for 120V to the water inlet valve coil while the control calls for water.

If there is 120V - replace the water inlet valve.

If there is no 120V check the wires and if there is nothing wrong - replace the control board.

- The part number for the water inlet valve is AP3120539

- The part number for the control board is AP3133674

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model DU980QPDZ5
