I just replaced the touch pad (part number 5 on the diagram for this appliance) The buttons controlling the oven, the timer and the cancel and number touch pad work but the other buttons don't function (eg self clean, clock and oven light and others). In the process of installing the touch pad some of these buttons did work and the ones working now did not. This leads me to think there is a short in the the connection to the electronic control or some malfunction in the electronic control. Since this part is $225 I'd like to be sure I have exhausted my options before I buy the part. Any suggestions?

Sorry but I cannot give you a guarantee that replacing the control board will solve the problem but odds are high that it will. I cannot find a pinout wiring diagram for the keypad so cannot tell you how to check it with a meter.

I would do the following first.
I would unplug the unit.
Then clean the keypad connectors at the keypad and on the control board.
Use a tooth brush and either isopropyl alcohol or electronics contact cleaner.
Be sure to let all the solvent evaporate before reconnecting.
