Dishwasher Repair

This is the second time that my d/w latch has broken. I am very frustrated with this and would not purchase another amana. Is this a common problem?

It is very hard to say why and how it happened.

What part of the door latch exactly broke?

Howdy,

We have the model ADW850EAS and YES, the door latch/start connection stopped working for us as well. Hubby took front panel off and saw some plastic (white) connection thing broken. We started putting a rolled up
newspaper between the door and the top of the dishwasher to some how make that electrical connection work. We did the newspaper trick BEFORE we took the front panel off. We took the panel off after the newspaper trick no longer worked. It just stopped working the other day and we had to order the entire Black Color Door Handle Latch Assembly. I think it is about 62$ plus shipping.

Specifically we have MFG # PADW850EAS2 (but I think anything in this line
has the same problem).
