Maytag MDBH950AWS works sporadically.
Model Number: MDBH950AWS Brand:
5 - 10 years
My Maytag model # MDBH950AWS will fill and run full cycles some of the time but other times, it will run part way through a cycle and then shut down. It happens when changing sections of the cycle, i.e. from rinse to wash, wash to rinse, etc. When it happens, it will fill and then you can hear a faint click-hum about every 30 sec., 3 or 4 times and then it simply shuts down. It also might happen if you open the door to add something. This began about 3 months ago and I was told by another company that it was definitely the control board so I bought a new one and installed it. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The problem is so sporadic that whatever part is at fault, it has not completely failed as it will run fine for 4 or 5 days and then, all of the sudden, begin shutting down again. Since it does run complete cycles sometimes and I have hopefully eliminated the control board as a current suspect, what would you think I need to look at next? Note; I replaced the touch pad and door latch assembly about 18 months ago.
3/16/2014 I've had no reply to this post in 10 days and, after again reading through some 200 posts (it won't go beyond page 8), I find a number of people with the same problem and no replies to any of them. I did find a possible "try" and I will attempt it today but I'm doubtful it will help. I’ve now pulled this machine out so many times that I’ve had to replace the screws on the door panel and the side trim strips with larger ones to hold it together. I really need some help with this dilemma as we’ve now been without a dishwasher for 4 months and I sincerely can’t afford another.
2/14/2015 It seems no one had an answer for this post so I'm updating. The machine is still down (only 2 of us so hand washing is really not that big of a deal) and I've still seen no suggestions as to what to try next. I'm fairly certain that I won't ever do Maytag/Whirlpool ever again.
