What is the normal open/close sequence for the active vent during the various wash/rinse cycles?

It is my understanding that it is closed during all phases except the heat dry cycle. Is that true? Or does it only open after completion of the whole routine?

The reason I ask is that I am suddenly getting a profuse quantity of steam/condensation from the vent at the end of the full cycle. It is running down the front of the unit as it condenses on the under side of the counter top. This is a new thing. I have never had this issue before now.

Is this an indication the active vent, part #8572611 is bad, or is it unrelated to the vent?

Thank you for any input.

IIRC the vent is opened for dry and is closed for 4 hours after finish so water will condense into bottom of tub. Are you using Rinse Aid in the liquid rinse aid dispenser? The Active Vent has had tendancy for the rubber flap to curl in it and not seal..... not common, but does happen.....
