My dishwasher won't start. I push the normal wash button and then start, the start button flashes and beeps for a while and then shuts off but the washer won't start. We used to be able to then push cancel, shut the door, open it and push start and it would start, but this no longer works. I took it apart and unplugged the white wires waited a few minutes and put it all back together, the dishwasher works for 2-3 washings but then goes back to the same flashing/beeping problem. When we do get it running the washer won't stop when the door is opened. I looked for a door senor but can not find anything that looks like any that I have scene pictures of on the internet. This dishwasher is only slightly over 2 years old. Any hints on how to fix this, hopefully by myself would be VERY much appreciated.

I was able to fix it. It was the switch/ door sensor switch in the handle part I believe. It was a little black rectangular piece near where the door latches shut. I was able to find the part and replace it for about $15. Has worked perfectly ever since.

Ok - I can probably handle that. At the sake time did you also have problems with opening it mid cycle and having it not stop but keep spraying? That has happened a few times!!!

Yes, it would not stop during mid cycle. I also am a mom of 4 girlies and one son who had a knack for opening it mid cycle and it sprayed everywhere. If you google door sensor, door switch also comes up, I think that is why my husband and I are confused as to what we called it. There are youtube videos on how to replace it as well as videos on the online repair parts. I was actually able to live chat with a person from the place I ordered it and they confirmed that they think it was the door sensor/switch. I remember how it felt good to unplug it and have it work and be relieved but then it didn't start again cycles later or wouldn't stop. I wanted to kick it to death! I was determined to fix it myself. I hope this was a missing piece in your mystery and you get yours fixed as well! Good Luck.

I found the box that the replacement part came in. It says Latch-door and the model number on the box is W10380262, the number on the part I took out is W10370003 and says Latch ASM. It is the black thing in the middle of the top of the door, literally the latch. You have to take the door apart to get to it but that was not super hard.
