Well I know this is going to be a stupid question, but here goes.... I need to change the heating element on my dishwasher. I have it pulled half way out from under the cabinet. The supply line and drain line are disconnected. However, I can't find the electric plug. I can tilt it sideways and see a yellow cord running under the dishwasher (can't unplug from dishwasher) and it runs OUT the wall behind the dishwasher...so I can't unplug it either. Any suggestions???

It probably does not have a line cord and plug.

It is probably hard wired in.
So the power supply line will run into a connector box on the dishwasher and then it is connected with wire nuts.

Be sure to shut power off to the unit when disconnecting it.

You can probably get how it is installed off the Whirlpool site if you know the model number.

Thanks. Now I know what's it called. :) My problem now is they must have pulled the cord up the wall AFTER installing because I can only pull the dishwasher half way out from under the cabinet.. So I can't get to anything. :(
Thanks again!

You did not give a model number so I do not know where the electrical hook up box is.

On most units it is directly behind the kick plate so you can get at it without pulling the unit all the way out from under the counter top.
