Timer mechanism is driven by a timer motor. My question: Unit will begin the wash cycle and when approximately 50% of cycle rotation of the knob the heater element will come on. I monitor the lead wire with a clamp on amp meter and when it goes from 0.06A to 9.99A the heater is on. At this instant the timer motor stops and the indicator cabinet knob stops rotating. The machine stays washing here indefinitely until you manually rotate the knob CW direction a few clicks until the heater goes off and the timer motor comes back on, the gear box is rotating but the knob does not advance further . I move it manually CW until I hear the next cycle (drain) beginning and from here the machine resumes to end.
Should the timer motor stop when the heater comes on because the internal water temp is not met? what else?
