The dishwasher won't pump the water out. I checked the line, the disposal unit and the inside of the dishwasher. There was no blockage. When trying to run it, the solenoid was operating at the correct time and the motor was running. I replaced the solenoid and pump with new parts. It still wouldn't pump. I put the old parts back in (so I could return the new parts) and it started working. Three weeks later, it stopped. I took everything apart again and it started working. I have no idea why, but I'm sure it's going to stop again. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi.

Look at the breakdown diagram and locate the little ball #454 on the top of the sump inlet. By moving up and down inside the tube, this ball opens and closes the path for the water to drain. Check if the ball is there and moves freely.

Please, post the results.

That ball is in part #510. Is it supposed to be in part #505?

Yes, it goes up and down in the tube inside the sump #505.

I signed up to this forum just to say thank you. Seriously, THANK YOU!!

I've been pulling my hair out over this for 2 weeks now, no signs of why my dishwasher wasn't draining even though the pump is working and the flapper solenoid was engaging, etc. This is the ONLY post I found that mentioned the little ball as a crucial component for draining.

I was missing that ball altogether, and I wasn't draining a damn drop. Block off that passage, and it drains perfect.
