I can hear dishwasher filling with water, but circulation pump does not start after inlet valve closes. After doing nothing for a couple minutes, the dishwasher drains. I tried adding extra water before starting the dishwasher, and the circulation worked two times, so I thought the problem was the inlet valve. I cleaned the float, but now the circulation pump won't start even when I add extra water. Is this a problem with the control panel?

Hello,

Are you sure it will start to drain just 2-3 minutes after it filled with water?

Thank you for your question. Yes, I am certain it is a matter of minutes. I verified by looking in the sink drain and seeing the water spraying into the drain.

Run the dishwasher in the service mode as instructed in the attached file and activate the circulation (main) pump. If the pump would not activate, remove the toe panel and check for 120 VAC to the pump motor. Post the results.

I ran the test, and the pump ran for about a minute and then shut off.

So the circulation pump is good. Sounds like the control module is the culprit.

It appears that Gene's diagnosis is correct, and that the control board needed to be replaced. Here are some comments about this forum, and the order with appliancepartspros.com:
-The forum (Gene) was very helpful with ideas on testing the dishwasher
-I ordered the part on Thursday, and received the delivery the next day...FAST!
-The replacement of the board took about 30 minutes
-Two runs of the dishwasher, and so far, so good
