grinding noises during wash cycles
Model Number: GU1200xtkq0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
during any wash cycle a grinding, metallic sound occurs.
already opened chopper blade area nothing inside that can be seen, can rotate impeller and it seems to be free

Hi Edward,
Check the white coupler end of the chopper. If it's worn out - you have to replace the chopper and the impeller. - The part number for the chopper assembly is AP3039186 - The part number for the impeller kit is AP3738238 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model GU1200XTKQ0.
