I have a GE dishwasher and was getting a C1 code for a while which turned into a C2 Code and now the washer will beep and shut down about 10 minutes into the first cycle

I checked the drain hose and there is no obstruction. I cleaned out the well and didnt find any obstruction and then I pulled the unit out, disconnected the water line and then unscrewed what I call the check valve and found the black flapper piece inside. It seemed a bit distorted do I cleaned it up and lubricated it with vaseline so it could flap back and forth and reconnected everything. It worked for about 1 or 2 entire cycles after that and then went back to C1 and now I am back to C2

I cant even find this part on the APP site.

Am I on the right track here? Is there something else I can do to determine if this is the problem?
