dishwasher circulation pump

dishwasher circulation pump

Model Number: shx46a05uc/14 Brand: Bosch Age: 5 - 10 years

The dishwasher fills. the pump starts but only shoots water about 4 to 5 inches in the air from the lower arms and nothing comes out of the upper arms. it seems as everything is getting power so i am thinking it is the circulation pump that is not performing correctly. i can stick a screwdriver into the circulation housing and get it to spin freely. could the pump just be worn out? i cannot hear anyhting in the pump that is restricting the water folow.
