Single neighbor had dishwasher he never used, was "new" when he bought condo. Dishwasher does not run. Various lights, usually "crystal/china","rinse only" blink continuously.
Control board removed, checked for visible damage and reinstalled with all plug-ins tight. Proper operation of door switches checked and verified. With door closed, main breaker switched on. Dishwasher ran what appeared to be a full cycle, without any buttons pressed. (I had never observed the unit in operation, so I am not sure if the cycle was normal.) After the drying cycle began, the door was opened, and unit would not run again, except as follows:
If the main breaker is thrown off, and then back on, without any buttons pushed, the water valve opens for about 5 seconds. Repeating this action, the water level builds and the "wash" cycle runs (for about 5 seconds).
Since the washer ran what appears to be a normal cycle, once. Can I assume that the control board is good and some other function interrupts the cycle after 5 seconds? If so, what might the problem be?
