I found this post and found a problem.

Hello tigergurle. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove all the screws on the inner door panel and remove the inner door panel. Once removed, you will need to remove the cover on the control board and remove the ribbon cable from the control board. On the ribbon cable is an arrow by one of the contacts. The arrow is number 1. You will need to test across pins 10 and 6. When you push the start/cancel button, the contact should close for continuity. If it does not, you will need to replace the control panel. If the control panel needs replaced, you will remove the screws holding the control board in place. Then remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall in reverse order. When I did this I found that there was 12 ohms across the #6 and 10 pin.
pushing the button does not change anything so I think the button is fried.The ribbon cable was disconnected. Also I can not feel the "click" when pushing the button.
Looks like I need to replace the whole front panel to fix this.
Is this correct?

After rethinking this these instructions do not make sense so I rechecked with ribbon cable connected because that is where the signal is coming from via the the start button and now I can see the switch is working and a change in the ohm reading whenever I push the start button. And I actually got the dishwasher to start but I still think it will fail to start the next time. Any help would be great!
