May seem a daft question , but can you put drain unblocker directly into dishwasher if its not draining

Hi.
Do not put any strong chemicals inside the dishwasher. Check the air-gap and the drain hose. Check if the dishwasher will drain with drain hose off the air-gap. Simon.
