I have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher Stock #13859 Model# 655.13859K601. When started it will allow water in and do the first rinse. Once that water drains, the dishwasher will not allow anymore water in. The motor will run and the dishwasher does heat up but the dishes do not get clean and the inside of the dishwasher is dry. Once I cancel the cycle and run a quick rinse there is no water but if I allow the dishwasher to sit for an hour and cool off then start a quick rinse it will allow the water in again for the first rinse. It seems like it stops allowing water in when it heats up.
I have taken apart the inside of the dishwasher to get to the food grinder, cleaned all of those parts and cleaned out that area. I have also disconnected the water line to check for blockages & cleaned the screen in the water inlet valve. I have also checked the float inside the dishwasher and it works fine. I can hear the switch clicking when lifting the float up and down. I also pressed the float switch under the dishwasher while running and it stopped the water fill. I was thinking this may be a water inlet valve issue or maybe a problem with the float switch but I find it weird that it works but stops when it gets hot.
Any ideas? Thanks!
