Model Number: gsd6200j03bb Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
the top rack in the dishwasher doesn't get cleaned. I troubleshot to one conclusion- there is a gasket missing between conduit and top rack underneath spray arm. I've checked local hardware stores with no success. When I spoke with a customer service rep from APP, she referred me to this forum, informing me if I order the conduit valve, #586, it may not come with the gasket I seek. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure which part you need.
I am not 100% sure on this but if you click on the following picture a page will open with a Q&A section. It says that the 0 ring is included in part 586 that you listed. Part number: AP3187223 This is the one that seals the rack conduit to the main rear conduit. Or do you need Item 611 in the Upper Rack Assembly section. It is listed as a screw but shows a gasket/seal. Part number: AP4484656

Neither one of them is what I need. I came across an ORing and installed it. I then ran the dishwasher through two cycles with one dish in top rack. After two, "sanitized" extra hot cycles, this dish did not come clean. I think I'm back at square one. What would prevent the top rack from getting cleaned, other than what I've fixed?

Have you checked the fill level?
Most units fill to just under the heating element. A good way to check this it to add a couple quarts of hot water after each fill in a cycle to see if the dishes now clean OK. Just be careful to not overfill it. Does the center arm rotate? If not check the holes at the ends to be sure they are clean. I find it easiest to run the unit for a bit and then pull the crud out of the holes with a pair of tweezers. This only works for soft stuff. I have not had much luck removing the arms and flushing them out. Always seems to leave crud in them that plugs the holes up again.
