Hello, I've been working with the parts folks here and with their advice, i have replaced the control board and the water valve. Neither have got the thing running again. Here's whats goin on:

*All buttons work when pressed (lights come on and off when pressed)
*When cycle is selected, and start is pressed, nothing happens. However if i wait a couple of minutes without pressing cancel, it will beging to hum underneath. But that's it.

...Need help. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Hi Steve,

Remove the toe panel and try to determine where this humming is coming from. Post the results.

The humming appears to be coming from the middle of the dishwasher maybe around the motor. I forgot to mention that it will try to pump out the water once i push cancel.

Have you removed the toe panel or it is just a guess?

What did you mean "it will try to pump out the water"?

Gene:

It is coming from the middle and when I hit the cancel button it acts as if there is water inside the washer. It is almost like a purge pump but no water to purge.

Hi Steve,

Open the door and make sure the float is in the most possible lower position and it moves freely up and down.

Remove the toe panel and check the float switch (right under the float) for continuity. It should be closed when the float is down.

If all of the above is correct, check for 120 VAC to the water inlet valve while the control calls for water.

Post the results.

I'm not real good with checking continuity. I have a tester that will do that, but i'm just not sure how to use it properly. I know the tester is yellow and digital, but that's about it. Can you tell me what to set it on?

The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - http://forum.appliancepartspros...continuity-ohmmeter.html
