Dishwasher won't start
Model Number: Kudp01ilbs6 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
Only a few buttons light up when pushed on my front panel, start does not work, cancel does. I have read numerous forums and still can't find a way to test continuity of the front panel switches at the ribbon cable connector using a VOM.
I have tried all combinations of the connector pins while pushing buttons...no continuity at all. Is there a wiring diagram or schematic available to me somewhere. I would like to be sure it's not something else before I purchase the front panel. Thanks Larry Ads By Google Related Models

Hi Larry,
Most likely the problem is a bad control panel. The chance for the control board to be bad too is less than 5%. Your choice is to order the control panel from APP and give it a try keeping in mind that you can always return the part if it would not fix the problem or, perform the tests as described in the attached tech sheet and end up ordering the same control panel. Tested control panel
Thanks Gene, That tech sheet is very helpful. I tested all the buttons on the panel and they all make the needle of my VOM fluctuate when pressed on the Rx1 scale. Does this mean the LEDs are OK and/or the switches are OK? Is this panel OK?

You were right, even though the control panel tested ok, according to the tech sheet, the control board didn't fix the problem. I replaced the contol panel and using the old control board, now it works fine. Thanks for your help. Larry Old tech
