4 Year old Whirlpool Not Running
Model Number: GU2475XTY0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Hi everyone,
Three months ago, we started having trouble with our dishwasher. After running the machine, I opened it to find an inch of undrained water and dirty dishes. Upon trying to run the machine again, a light would blink 7 times and it wouldn't start. We had a guy come out and he replaced the door switch for $150. The machine worked fine for 2 months.
About 2 weeks ago, the machine stopped working again. This time, it didn't appear to run at all, even though it was making sounds like it was trying to. Same guy came out and he replaced the control board. After that didn't work, he replaced the heating element. After that didn't work, he said it must be the motor, which would be so expensive to repair, I might as well get a new machine. He also said that if I would let him have the machine after I bought a new one, he wouldn't charge me for the labor and parts he just put into the machine on this second go around.
Now, while I see how he could be trying to be helpful, it raised a red flag for me since, if I give him the machine, his incentives no longer align with mine. My question is, does the repair pattern and symptoms seem to make sense? Do you have any suggestions on the proper course of action?
I sincerely appreciate your help!
