Model Number: Kuds01ijbs0 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
Reposting with corrected model #. How do I replace the air intake at the bottom of the door? The part # is 8268937. My dishwasher has not been leaking, but the splash guard at the bottom of the air intake is cracked and nearly all of the black gasket that was adhered to the splash guard has fallen off.
I already purchased the replacement air intake. I took the door apart & see two small hex head screws, is this all that holds the air intake on? I've been told by a repairman that the whole inner door panel must be purchased to obtain a replacement gasket. Or is it enough to simply replace the air intake? Ads By Google Related Models |

There are two splash guards (#17 at the diagram) and I don't see why you have to replace the air inlet (#4) in such situation. I'm assuming you meant the black sound & temperature insulation which is adhered to the inner door panel. If that is correct then your repairman was right and you have to order the whole inner door panel. - The splash guard Part number: 8268933 - The inner door panel Part number: 8530903 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Whirlpool KUDS01IJBS0 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

There is also a splash guard which is part of the air inlet, at the bottom. It runs the length of the door. It's made of the same hard plastic as the air inlet, and has in places started cracking apart from the air inlet. That's why I want to replace the air inlet, not the corner splash guards you referenced, or the entire inner door. The replacement air inlet doesn't have gasket on it like the original part, but I have seen comments online indicating folks have replaced just the air inlet and apparently corrected their leaks. Just looking for some confirmation about that.

I never replaced that part myself but the diagram shows two screws (#2) secured the air inlet (#4).
