My kitchenaid dishwasher has excessive moisture coming out the vent at the top of the door during the dry cycle. Moisture collects on the uderside of the granite countertop and them drips down the front of the dishwasher. This has just started to happen. Why so much moisture?

Remove the inner door panel. Disconnect the wires from the air vent wax motor (#5 at the diagram) and measure the resistance between the wax motor terminals. The normal reading suppose to be 600 Ohms to 1800 Ohms. If the reading is incorrect, replace the air vent.

I checked the resistance and it is around 1200 Ohms. The diaphram seal is in the open position when in the air vent. Should it be normally closed?
Is the motor stuck on?

The air vent should be closed during the wash cycle to maintain proper temperature inside the dishwasher and should be open during the dry cycle to get rid of moister faster. This is normal.

If your dishwasher is not aligned properly with the counter top then the moister will condensate on the kitchen counter.

It is important to use rinse aid.

The problem has just started to occure. No change in counter top alignment. I looks like the vent motor is doing what it should. I changed dishwasher detergent to cascade drop in pacs. Stopped using rinse aid. Do you think that is the problem? I have stopped using the dry cycle for now and have not gotten any moisture.
I just checked it while it is in the wash cycle and there is moisture coming out the vent. I looked inside and it looks like the vent is open. I have a feeling the wax motor is on working. Is it worth replacing the vent to see if it stops as it will be tough to see if it is getting power during the wash cycle.

It is very likely that what cause it.

I would give a rinse aid a try first. If it would not work then replace the air vent.

Gene.
P.S. All newer dishwashers designed to work with rinse aid.
