Hi,

We have a Bosch SMU2046UC/14 dishwasher that has served us well for years. It has very simple controls, a few push buttons and a timer that controls the cycle (at least I believe that is how it operates). The timer spins through the cycle when it is working properly, but now when it gets to the wash position it sticks there indefinitely. If we twist it past to the next part of the cycle, it continues till it gets to the rinse part where it again sticks. Rotating it past that, it will automatically complete the cycle.

I can replace the timer for about $150, but want to be sure that will solve the problem. Maybe there are some contacts on the timer that can be cleaned, maybe it is something else that triggers the timer past these two points?

I'd appreciate any advice anyone could give.
