GE Monogram Dishwasher Fills, Doesn't Spray (hear pump running)
Bummer, just typed this whole thing again because I wasn't logged in when trying to post and it got lost. Newbie here.
Anyway, just purchased a home with a GE Monogram ZBD6880K10SS dishwasher. I tried operating the unit for the first time with a standard wash cycle. I heard the water solenoid kick on, heard filling, filling secured and momentarily the pump motor could be heard but there was no spray heard. Opened the unit and there was water in the sump but nothing was wet (no spray action). Closed the door and selected rinse only function. Heard water filling again and didn't want to overfill (wood floors) so I think I pressed start/reset and the pump motor could be heard again with no spray action. Opened/closed again and tried again with rinse only. Heard water fill again and let it go for a bit then pressed start/reset. Heard pump motor with no spray action and looking inside, no dishes were wet. The sump water level upon completing the above was about 1-2" away from the sump gasket at the door. The large sump strainer was submerged in water.
Couple of thoughts:
1) The float isn't allowing the sump to fill sufficiently. What is the proper level? So the water reaches the sump gasket at the door or to the bottom of the heater element?
2) There is some kind of blockage at the inlet to the pump. How do I remove the sump strainer to check? Is there another filter besides the strainer?
3) The pump impeller is bad.
What are your thoughts? Any input is greatly appreciated.
