Model Number: kuds03ctbl3 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years
Hello -
Last night I heard water pouring on the floor my KitchenAid dishwasher, from below the front door. I examined it and found out that the intake water valve does not shut off even if I cancel the program or cut of power. I shut off the water valve in front of the machine and press Cancel to drain the water. Then I open the valve, restarted a regular cycle, immediately opened the front door and saw water flowing in through the internal inlet. This exercise tells me the water level sensor was not an issue because it did not have a chance to be activated at low water level, therefore, the problem must be with the "water inlet valve". I found on www an info that one should test conductivity between the two power terminals on the valve (after unplugging the connectors); if it shows open circuit then the valve is bad. Is that a right test? Is it the part I should be focused on or there is some other piece I must investigate? Thank you, V Ads By Google Related Models |

You have diagnosed it correctly especially since you removed power from the unit and the valve did not close.
You need to replace the following. Part number: AP4429566

Also, I compared the original with the picture of part AP4429566 and noticed the hose connector on the valve of the original unit is perpendicular to the solenoid, while the replacement is parallel. I am concerned that the available space between the dishwasher's frame and the valve will not allow me to connect and fit the hose without a 90 degree elbow. Is there an identical replica of the original unit available at all? Brgds, V |
