Hello and thank you.

This dishwasher suddenly quit in the middle of use.

I have located a blown thermal fuse in the door up by the control panel (photo included).

Normally, I only use the 'Normal Wash' setting. The last time, when it quit, I had used 'Heavy Wash', 'High Temp', 'Sani-Rinse' settings.

It quit leaving a lot of water in the bottom so I guess it must have been in a wash cycle?

I am wondering if there is something that caused it to draw too much current causing the fuse to go out. The power to the dishwasher is excellent and the connections look good.

Is it possible that the heating element is weak and drawing too much current at high settings? Will a continuity test show higher resistance if it works fine on a lower setting but is going bad and can't handle higher setting?

Does the heating element pull out from the inside or must it be removed from underneath? (I am trying to avoid having to shut the water off because of the way it was installed and cannot access the rear unless I do).

Before I replace the fuse I want to try to see if there is anything else to check that might be a weak link.
