Dishwasher Repair

I have a dishwasher that emits a loud high pitch in the wash and drain cycle. Sometimes its all the time and sometimes it is intermittant. What can we do short of replacint the machine. It is about 12 months old. Kenmore Mod #665.16032403

The first thing I would do is check for a foreign objects in the pump.

Remove the water feeding tube on the back of the dishwasher.

Remove the pump cover and the inlet cover and check the chopper.

Gene: I had already checked the drain but due to your suggestion, looked again. Found a piece of toothpick. Thanks a lot. Plumber75
