Hi and thanks for this free service. I have an older Maytag dishwasher that has been doing great untill lately. I noticed a couple of times that the timer seemed stuck half way through the wash cycle and wouldn't advance. Even when it completes the cycle though, dishes aren't very clean and there is often dry soap still left in the soap tray or scattered in the tub undisolved. Would this be a timer issue.

Thank you:)

I always seem to get the wierd problems. Don't let the title confuse things, it's just what I suspect since it got stuck. I have very little knowledge on these matters. maybe it's a water issue, I don't know. I would really appreciate any helpful advice by anyone that knows about this stuff. Maybe how to check specific parts to narrow down the troubleshooting process. I have been unemployed for months and cannot afford going out and buying new. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Chriskall,

I have pretty much the same issue! My Matag MJD 2000 AAW gets stuck on the last minute of the cycle. When we take the dishes out they will still have either food on them still or more commonly streaks and traces of detergent. I turned teh rinse aid level down to the minimum but it still happens. What is wrong?

I don't know what caused the timer to stop but it turned out that my problem was the water valve. I switched the water valve and it runs like new.
