Model Number: GSD2600G00ww Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a GE Nautilus dishwasher. When you turn it on it fills with water
and then won't run. As you turn the dial there will be a clunking sound as it hits each cycle, but nothing else happens if you leave the dial alone. (clunking sound comes from motor? pump? under dishwasher) It won't drain when you turn the dial, only fill. If you turn the dial manually, sometimes it will run if you turn the dial around the cycles three or four times. Ads By Google Related Models |

Remove the toe panel and check if the pump motor makes a humming noise when it should run. If it does, the best solution is to replace the pump & motor assembly. It comes with the installation instructions.

Thank you for your advice. I noticed that I could not spin the shaft on the motor. Once I dissasmbled the pump and separated it from the motor, the motor worked fine. I ordered a new impeller and seal kit for the pump (part) (WD19X10032) and installed it. The motor shaft is no longer binding on the pump, and now the dishwasher works fine. I did not realize that the grater on the pump unscrews clockwise, and the impeller unscrews counterclockwise. I found this out after I took it apart. I coudn't find instructions on the forum on how to dissasemble the pump. Since I new that the grater was included in the impeller kit, I broke it to get it out (without damaging the pump housing). I wanted to make sure if the motor worked or not, before ordering parts. When I received the impeller kit it had instructions (I assumed it would). I also bought a lower rack to replace my rusted one. Thank you again for your contribution, and I will be buying more repair items from this company. Steve (SBR65) |
