Model Number: shu66c02 Brand: Bosch Age: 5 - 10 years
First off, I'd never recommend this dishwasher. I've replaced the soap dispenser now twice in approximately 7 years. First one was under warranty. This one was on me. Got the part here at
appliance parts pros. It came fast and was competitively priced. Thanks APP! Another problem with this dishwasher is the program buttons are falling out. I thought they just popped out but when I replaced the soap dispenser I could see what the problem actually is. The problem with them falling out turns out to be the poorly made fascia plate. The tiny little, fragile tabs that hold the bottom of the program button in place (on the fascia) broke off. $50 for a new fascia plate....not gonna happen! My question is has anyone come up with a fix for getting the program buttons to stay in place when this happens? It doesn't take much to hold them in there and it's not worth $50 to fix this, only knowing it's going to happen again. I'm thinking of trying to silacone the bottoms in place. Would be interested to know if anyone else has success or ideas about this. Thanks! Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by billncat : 06-01-2012 at 05:33 AM. |

In case this happens to anyone else, I solved the problem. Since I had the bottom of the door front off, I took the fascia plate off as well.
I recently had to replace some decorative tiles in my swimming pool. I used a two part epoxy to do this. Since I had some epoxy left, I used it to anchor in the bottoms of the program button. Its dry and there is enough movement to engage the control panel when the button is pressed, however, the bottom isn't going anywhere. You don't need this pool epoxy. There are many options similar that you can find at the local hdwe store. |
