installing new upper rack on dishwasher

Model Number: kdp2needs new upper rack Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years

is exhanging the upper rack on my dishwasher difficult? The new one does not have a waashr arm guard but the present one is working. Can I install the new rack over the arm guard?
