Model Number: PDW9980N00SS Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
PDW9980N00SS I purchased this dishwasher "repair needed" thinking I would fix it... The main issue is the control pad buttons do not function normally i.e. the heated dry button changes the cycle. I have replaced the control module and the key pad, with the same results as with the old parts. All the buttons beep but nothing functions correctly. It's a bit of a stumper, any help would be much appreciated

Remove the bottom panel and the junction box cover. Verify the proper connection of the power cord (the black power cord wire should be connected to the black dishwasher wire, and white to white). Make sure the dishwasher is properly grounded. Verify that the voltage to the dishwasher is within 120 VAC ± 10% range.
Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric PDW9980N00SS Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Thanks for getting back, the power supply is correct, I did have it hooked up with a extention cord but have wired it direct, every thing still works as before. I am a bit stumped due to the fact I have replaced the control parts, the real bummer is that because the buttons don't work it will not go through the service mode or factory test mode. It does run through a full cycle start to finish. Is there any part that back feeds the control module that could cause this?

You may want to double check the connections of the ribbon cable.
Make sure the turbidity sensor (321 at the diagram) is properly connected. It can be checked for continuity between the terminals 1 & 4. Gene.
