Default Circ pump motor/capacitor connections
Model Number: Various   Brand: Hotpoint   Age: More than 10 years

I am looking for the connection and wiring details of the circulation pump and capacitor for hotpoint dishwashers. The pump is a 1800063 (HTPT1800063, in full, I think) and appears in a huge number of hotpoint dishwashers, some Indesits, Credas and Jacksons, to name a few.
I am installing the pump and capacitor but don't have the benefit of seeing how the old ones were connected. Can anyone help with a circuit diagram or connection details please?
Thank you for looking...

The part number you posted is not a valid part number for any GE/Hotpoint dishwasher pump.

The model numbers you posted in the second thread are not a valid model numbers for any dishwasher.

Is it a residential dishwasher?

Gene.

Default Codes are for UK

Thanks for replying Gene.
I should have mentioned that my codes are for UK machines (I presumed they might be similar in USA).
I guess the same pump might be in American machines but I have no idea what the codes might be. It was a long shot because I have had no luck with the information in the UK. I can describe the pump (plastic impeller housing with 3 spouts, large one in the middle and 2 of different sizes on either side), or beter still, a Google using 'Hotpoint' and '1800063' should throw up a picture of the pump. In the UK the pump has an 8uF capacitor which may be larger in USA because of the voltage difference, but it might be reasonable to assume that the construction and connections would be the same. In any case, any information is more than I have just now!
Thanks again,
Guy

Hi Guy,

I found the picture of the pump assembly.

Unfortunately I never seen such pump in US made Hotpoint dishwashers.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep looking in the UK.

Strange thing is that Hotpoint UK won't provide technical information about their own products (surprisingly, they seem to claim that they have no reference material). They are very keen to send out one of their engineers though, I don't think they understand that the technically able are quite capable of doing the job themselves given an equal chance.

As a temporary solution, I have managed to put the impeller and housing from the new pump onto the old motor. They are identical apart from one fixing hole which was easily drilled. This gives me a breathing space to find out about the new motor's wiring, someone in the UK must know. In the mean time, at least we have clean plates and, more important, a happy wife!

Once again, many thanks for your time.
Guy
