Model Number: GU2275XTVYO Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The 5th thermal fuse has died. The Board has been changed, the thermister, the high limit cut out, the wiring checks OK Good contacts @ the junction box in the unit @ the board, the amp draw with motor and element is 8.75 and is under the max 9 amps. I did notice in the field test mode the element amps drops over the test pd from 5.5 to 3.5. The customer says that the dishes come out clean even when the fuse goes out and she always uses the Sani selection and heated dry and it seems to quit in that part of the cycle and leaves the water.

I am assuming that you have used the wiring harness that comes with the fuse.
Is the unit on a separate line or does it share the line with other appliances? Could be that the line is dropping when another appliance kicks on. Check the incoming water temperature, should be at least 120 degrees F. Raising it may alleviate the fuse blowing but there will still be an under lying problem with the unit. Check the vent wax motor. Hopefully others will jump in with more suggestions as the above is sort of grasping for straws.

Sorry it's been so long. Thanks for these suggestions. Yes I have used the harness with the fuse. I'll check about the circuit, and temper. What about the wax motor could cause this, if I may ask? Thanks. |
