Model Number: MDB4000AWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
I would like to know how to remove the "water fill float" so I can l can clean under it to remove any debris that may be trapped under it . I have tried pulling on it but am afraid of breaking it.
The dishwasher occasionally over-fills and water squirts out of the lower left side. Sometimes it fills above the heater element before shutting off the water supply so I believe it is either a sticking float or float switch. Any help would be much appreciated.Thanks. Ads By Google Related Models |

There is a nut secured the float from the bottom, under the dishwasher. You have to remove the toe panel to access it as well as the float switch.
Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag MDB4000AWW DISHWASHER- UNDERCOUNTER | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Hi Gene,
Thank you for your response. In looking a pictorial of the float in the parts list you provided, I cannot see where a nut would fit on the stem of the float,(part number AP4390017.) I'm not at my daughter's house right now, but have access to the exact same machine that is currently working fine. One site I visited , said just grab the float and yank it out. I really don't think that is a good idea. Where would the nut be located on the float stem and must I remove the "fill switch" to access it? |
