I have a 6 year old kenmore dishwasher.It fills with water and then drains

The Sears site does have part breakdown diagrams, just search for your model using 665.13679K600.
They like to keep the diagrams to themselves.

Here is a manual which may apply.
there is not a cross reference from Sears to the actual manufacturer (in this case Whirlpool) os I have to guess. The link is fora unit that uses the same control board.

Try different cycle to see if this always happens.
Check for any error code indications.
Is it filling and then emptying or emptying while filling?
Open up and clean the main pump.

totally shut the unit down (turn of circuit breaker) let it power down then restart the unit to see if it will start up. You did not mention if it was digital control panel or not. also your diverter valve that allows the dirty water to drain after washing may be stuck open.
